The new local ownership group of the Southern Hoiho and Otago Nuggets is proud to officially hold the licences for both teams. There has been strong momentum in Dunedin, and we are excited about the future – not just for the teams’ success on the court, but also for their impact within the community.

It is important to the new owners that Otago continues to maintain professional sports teams, and we look forward to building on the proud tradition already established. We thank Sport Entertainment Network for the investment they have provided to both teams over the past four years and look forward to continuing a commercial relationship with them.

We would also like to acknowledge the support from the City and a significant number of Dunedin and Otago businesses, whose backing has been instrumental. Their commitment ensures that professional sport continues to thrive in our region.

This marks the start of a new era for both the Nuggets and the Hoiho, and we are thrilled for the journey to begin tonight when the Hoiho take on the Pouākai in Christchurch.
